Welcome back to TheLexiEdit!
I love Colourpop because their products are so affordable but I had never tried any of their new(ish) Matte Lux Lipsticks so I decided to place an order on the site. While looking for/at the Matte Lux Lipsticks I came across a beautiful new palette they had. The Sol Pressed Powder Shadow Palette looked totally up my ally so I just HAD to try it! Below is my review and pictures featuring me using the products I most recently purchased from Colourpop! XO!

My Review of the Palette:
This palette is absolutely stunning. I was just scrolling through the Colourpop website and I came across this palette and was struck by how gorgeous and “up my ally” it appeared! When I got this palette in the mail, I immediately swatched it and was NOT disappointed by the swatches! I was so excited to try the palette out on my eyes and did so the next morning. The palette also did NOT disappoint on the actual eyes, which is what matters! The matte shadows were so so pigmented and creamy while also being easy to blend. Yet, while they were so easy to blend, they also did not blend into nothing. I did a lot of blending in the look featured above and when I was done blending the eyeshadow was still just as pigmented as when I applied it, it was just more flawless and airbrush-looking, once blended. The shimmers in this palette are absolutely to die for! They work best applied with a finger and especially with a wet brush (I use MAC Fix + to wet brushes to apply shimmer shades but really any setting spray will work!). Overall, the shadows are very very creamy and very very pigmented, they are blendable and are not patchy when you blend them out on the eyes. I would recommend this palette to literally anyone. I would definitely pick this palette up if you are a lover of warm toned shadows! Lastly, this palette is SO inexpensive for the quality of the shadows that are in the palette. Honestly, I think Colourpop, overall, has the best eyeshadow palettes on the market and they are some of the cheapest, as well!

Colourpop Matte Lux Lipstick General Review:
These matte lipsticks have quickly become one of my favorite lipstick formulas! They come in second place, in my makeup world, right behind the Tarte Color Splash Lipsticks! These lipsticks are so creamy yet matte! They do not extenuate fine lines or dry patches on the lips. I would not say that they are moisturizing on the lips, like the Tarte Color Splash Lipsticks are, but at the same time, they are not drying on the lips, either. The wear time of these lipsticks is very typical of a lipstick. They are not as long wearing as a liquid lipstick, but they are pretty long wearing for a lipstick! I really love the formula of these lipsticks because they are so creamy and pigmented yet they are matte at the same time. I love to pair the shades: Third Eye or Appy with my Too Faced Peach Creamy Peach Oil Lip Gloss in Papa Don’t Peach. Either of those two lipsticks paired with the Too Faced Lip Gloss creates the most stunning combination and it has been my go-to ever since getting these lipsticks and I can tell that it will continue to be my go-to for quite a long long time! Lastly, the price of these lipsticks is $7.00 each, that is absolutely incredible. If you go to the drugstore, especially CVS, can be so expensive. For example, the L’Oréal Ultra Matte Highly Pigmented Nude Lipstick are $9.99 on the L’Oréal website, and I am sure they are even more at stores like Ulta and CVS. I tried the L’Oréal Ultra Matte Highly Pigmented Nude Lipstick years ago and they were nowhere near as good as these Colourpop Lipsticks and the Colourpop ones are $3.00 cheaper! I honestly think that these Colourpop Lipsticks are the best bang for your buck around. You cannot get any higher quality for the price, especially. I have been recommending these lipsticks to everyone that I know who is into makeup and have been getting so many compliments on my lipstick when wearing my two favorite shades, as well!
Shades I Purchased and Review of Each Shade:
1. Colourpop Matte Lux Lipstick in Appy–$7.00
This lipstick is absolutely gorgeous. The formula is so soft, creamy, and pigmented while not applying patchy to the lips, whatsoever. On me, this shade pulls a little bit more orange than brown but it is still absolutely stunning. Right now, this shade is slightly too light for me since it is summer here in the United States and I have quite a dark natural tan. However, I think this shade will be my go-to during the fall, winter and early spring months when I am significantly more pale!
2. Colourpop Matte Lux Lipstick in Quickie–$7.00
This shade is much much lighter and more pinky peachy toned than the lip swatch shows on Colourpop cosmetics. I am unsure if they accidentally uploaded the wrong shade or if I got the wrong shade but it was packaged in the Shayla X Colourpop packaging so I am really unsure of what happened there. Nonetheless, the shade I did receive was beautiful and I was thrilled with it as it is not normally a shade I gravitate towards and I am happy to add it to my collection. Although this is not normally a shade I gravitate towards because it looks so pale on my lips, I do think it will look much much better on me during the fall and winter months when I am not as tan as I am right now. In the summer months, I get quite a bit of color and get to be pretty dark (I’m half Italian, thanks dad! hahah!) so at this present moment, the shade Quickie is a bit too light on me but I am almost positive that when I am not as tan as I am right now, it will look stunning! Additionally, this lipstick is a collaboration with Shayla a beauty influencer on YouTube. I personally have not seen many of Shayla’s videos but her collection, especially the eyeshadow palette that she collaborated with Colourpop on, was absolutely beautiful. When I placed my order the eyeshadow palette was out of stock, but as of the day this post has gone up, the eyeshadow palette is back in stock! I would definitely check it out because it is absolutely stunning.
3. Colourpop Matte Lux Lipstick in Third Eye–$7.00
This lipstick is my favorite out of the three shades that I purchased! It is a beautiful matte nudey brown with a pinky undertone. The pigment on this shade is absolutely incredible. The lipstick does not apply to the lips in a patchy way. Instead, the lipstick glides onto the lips seamlessly and applies even pigment to the entire lip. I love this shade on my skin right now, which is more darker and more tanned than it usually is since it is summer here! Right now, this lipstick in Third Eye is an everyday shade for me but I am unsure if it will stay an everyday shade for me during the fall, winter, and beginning of spring because it may be too dark for me, personally.
