Makeup Revolution Reloaded Newtrals 2 Palette!
I was wandering around Ulta recently and this Makeup Revolution palette jumped right out at me! It looked like the perfect palette for me! I love warm toned pinky and orangey tones for eyeshadow and this palette looked like it would be right up my ally! And for a VERY reasonable price too, at $7.00 in store at Ulta! Read below to find out if this palette answered all my dreams and more, or if I was left disappointed! (And no, I did not misspell the palette named, it is supposed to be punny, lol!)
As I said above, I bought this palette quite excitedly, thinking that it could become my new holy grail palette. Unfortunately, I was slightly disappointed. I say slightly because while I do love the matte shades, the shimmer shades are so disappointing that it almost overshadows the lovely matte shades. So basically, the matte shades are incredible, they are so pigmented and not patchy, whatsoever. Overall, I was very pleased with the matte shadows in the palette. But as I said, I was not very impressed with the shimmer shades. I just did not find them to be as pigmented and “shiny” (if you know what I mean), as I wish they would have been. I applied the shimmers the first three times I used this palette with a brush and sprayed Mac Fix + on the brush, which usually works very well to get maximum amount of pigment and “shine.” Yet, I did not find that this palette gave me the amount of pigment and shine that I wish I would have. Saying that, the next time I used this palette, I applied these shimmer shades with my finger, and was much more impressed with the color payoff. The shimmer shades were much more intense and I was much more pleased with the results.
This palette is definitely a dupe for the Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance palette. Honestly, I would get this Makeup Revolution Reloaded Newtrals 2 palette over the Modern Renaissance palette. You get so much more bang for your buck with this palette for $7.00 over the Modern Renaissance for $42.00.
