August Beauty Haul!

Hi guys! I hope you had a great month of August! I didn’t buy as much as I did last month, but I did pick up some great items! I hope you enjoy this haul and let me know what your favorites are from this month, as well! XO!

Makeup:

1. Anastasia Glow Kit Beverly Hills Kit That Glow–$33.95 (from Amazon)

9c498fa8-c2a3-4767-8083-41cb6bb9fcaa

This is my absolute favorite GlowKit by Anastasia. For some reason, they do not sell it anymore but luckily, I have been able to find it on Amazon! This GlowKit is so bronzy but in a very natural and glowy way. I love the formula of Anastasia GlowKits they are amazing. Some people say they are too powdery but I do not think so. I think they are creamy and apply so smoothly to the skin!

2. J.Cat Beauty Pris-Metal Chrome Eye Mousse–$7.17 (from Amazon)

JCat_Beauty_Pris_Metal_Chrome_Eye_Mousse

These eyeshadows are absolutely incredible. They are so moussey, as per the name, creamy, and smooth. These shadows have a really interesting consistency, while yes they are a mousse formula, they are not only a mousse formula, but they are also a fluffy type of texture, which paired with the mousse formula, creates a really interesting texture! These shadows grab onto a brush and apply fairly well, but to receive maximum pigment payoff, I definitely suggest using a fingertip! You must layer this product up though, at first application, without enough product, they do appear slightly patchy, but once you layer it, gradually, they create the most beautiful effect on the eyes! You honestly cannot get a better cream eyeshadow, for the price!

According to Ulta, “J.Cat Beauty’s Pris-Metal Chrome Eye Mousse is available in holographic and metallic shades. Soft and creamy to the touch, this eye mousse is not only opaque but lasts all day. The formula glides on and blends effortlessly without creasing or smudging on the lids.”

Shades I purchased (with swatches):

  • Champagne Wiz

3. Kat Von D Lock-It Makeup Setting Mist–$24.90 (from Amazon)

s-l300-1

This is my new favorite makeup setting spray. Honestly, I like it better than the Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray! This setting spray is perfect for me! It prevents my oils from coming to the surface of my skin and creating that disgusting oily look. Yet, it does still allow my skin to look glowy, dewy, and fresh from all the brightening skincare I use! The fine spray is perfect for setting my makeup and does not leave little marks from the spray! I think that this setting spray keeps my oils at bay much better than the Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray and makes my makeup last much longer, as well!

According to Sephora, “Lock-It Makeup Setting Mist has an unstoppable formula with a luxurious, soft mist for an upgraded experience. The advanced misting system features an aerosol-alternative sprayer to deliver the continuous fine mist of an aerosol in an environmentally friendly format. This refreshing, weightless spray keeps your makeup looking fresh and vibrant for up to 24-hours. Ideal for all skin types, it is powerful enough to lock-in looks yet light enough to wear all day, every day. Skin stays comfortable with a blend of naturally refreshing ingredients and a light cucumber scent for an instant boost. It feels totally undetectable on the skin, with no tightness or sticky residue.”

4.  Stila Shimmer & Glow Liquid Eye Shadow–$24.00 (Amazon)

stila_jezebel_001_product

These are absolutely amazing. I have tried the Glitter & Glow Liquid Eye Shadow but they were just too glittery and uneven for me. These Shimmer & Glow Liquid Eyeshadows, on the other hand, are absolutely perfect. They are just what they say, shimmery and glowy. They create the most glossy look on the eye while also remaining natural and effortless! It is also so long wearing and does not crease throughout the day!

According to Sephora, “Glisten and gleam with stila’s new Shimmer & Glow Liquid Eye Shadow—rich, beautiful color with a high shimmer sheen, minus the glitter.

The pearl-packed translucent base offers versatile wear. Apply a sheer layer for daytime, or add layers for nighttime drama. This uniquely lightweight, water-infused texture gives a barely-there, refreshing feel and smooth color laydown. The non-tacky, non-transfer, adhesive base means minimal fallout—no primer needed.”

Shades I purchased (with swatch):

5. LA Girl Pro Coverage Liquid Foundation–$8.99

la-girl-pro-coverage-hd-long-wear-illuminating-foundation-fair-uk-review-1

This is my absolute favorite foundation. I love to mix it with the Maybelline Matte + Poreless Foundation. I find that it creates the most beautiful combination. This foundation is so long-wearing and creates the most luminous but not oily finish on my skin! This foundation provides you a full coverage finish but is lightweight and comfortable all day! I notice that it is not drying and actually is hydrating to my skin!

According to Ulta, “L.A. Girl’s high-definition, long-wear, illuminating Pro Coverage Liquid Foundation is ideal for a flawless looking, full coverage finish. Lightweight formula is comfortable for all day wear. Paraben free formula with added antioxidants helps hydrate and improve the skin’s appearance.”

6. Jaclyn HillxMorphe Eyeshadow Palette–$38.00

This palette is a repurchase for me! I have purchased this palette THREE times now since I have hit pan on my favorite shades now two times and cannot live without them! I absolutely love this palette! This palette is one of my absolute FAVORITES. There is such a wide array of shades and they are all so blendable, creamy, and smooth. The palette features 35  shades with matte, shimmer, satin, foil, and glitter finishes. Jaclyn Hill, one of my very favorite YouTubers, worked with the makeup brand, Morphe, for over two years to create and perfect this amazing palette. The wide array of shadows makes it so that this palette is the only one you need to use for a completed makeup look, making it ideal for travel!

According to Ulta, “Morphe’s Jaclyn Hill Eyeshadow Palette is not your average eyeshadow palette. That’d be boring. And Jaclyn Hill doesn’t do boring. This palette is a 2-year love affair. 35 OMG eyeshadows that were created by Jaclyn to deliver not only the best color payoff but also amazing application. Mattes, shimmers, satins, foils, and a glitter: all pressed to perfection just the way Jaclyn wanted. Her dreamy colors are now your reality. So, whether you’re pressed for time or have time to play, this palette is your new bestie.”

Skincare:

1. Drunk Elephant T.L.C. Framboos Glycolic Night Serum–$90.00 (From Amazon)

1478361024169

I absolutely love this product. It is my new obsession! It is so pricey and it kills me that it is so expensive. Yet, I notice a visible difference when I do not apply it. I notice in the morning that my skin is visibly brightened and more radiant. This product features a 12 percent AHA/BHA serum for night that refines and resurfaces skin to reveal a smoother and more radiant complexion, while enhancing the performance of other products by clearing the way for maximum absorption.

According to Sephora, This high-tech gel resurfaces dull skin, lifting dead skin cells away by gently dissolving the glue that holds them to the surface. The results are greater clarity and a smoother, more even-looking complexion. Formulated with a dream-team AHA/BHA blend including glycolic, lactic, tartaric, citric, and salicylic acids, and blended with raspberry extract, T.L.C. Framboos™ sinks in easily and delivers an effective level of chemical exfoliation without the harsh side effects like dryness or sensitization. Fine lines, wrinkles, and discoloration, along with excess oiliness and the appearance of pores, will appear dramatically diminished. Horse chestnut, bearberry and white tea help to calm and soothe while improving the appearance of broken capillaries. Go from a drab complexion to an absolutely luminous one practically overnight.”

2. Laneige Lip Mask–$16.29 (From Amazon)

laneige lip sleeping mask liz breygel 03

This is my absolute favorite lip mask. This mask really hydrates and repairs my dry and cracked (I know, totally gross!) lips. This lip mask makes my lips so smooth and leaves them so supple looking. The scent is strong but enjoyable and if you accidentally get some in your mouth, which is inevitable, the taste is lovely!

According to Sephora, “Lip Sleeping Mask has a softening balm texture that closely adheres to lips for quick absorption. Enriched with vitamin C and antioxidants, its Berry Mix Complex™ offers a nutritiously sweet and fragrant blend of raspberry, strawberry, cranberry, and blueberry extracts to indulge the senses. Its exclusive Moisture Wrap™ technology boasts hyaluronic acid and minerals to form a protective film over the lips to lock in moisture and active ingredients. A generous layer of this soothing mask at bedtime helps reduce flakiness so you can wake up to lips that feel refreshed, supple, and soft to the touch.”

3. Tony Moly I’m Lemon Brightening Layering Sheet Mask–$5.00

f343997e4276e597f748f946cf5cabcb_Bz5eZrQDbWMAcIVD3BAqBKutENpN

This mask is great! I really loved using it and for the price, it is one of the very best. Upon using it, I noticed visibly brightened and illuminated skin. My dark spots and under eye bags were brightened, as well. Additionally, I noticed that my discoloration from past acne scars. Also, I noticed improved skin texture and visibly smoothed skin. Lastly, I noticed perfected impurities from current breakouts and uneven skin texture.

According to Ulta, “Formulated with 90% natural ingredients, our adorable fruit-shaped I’m Layering masks allow you to customize your mask by applying adorable slice patches to the areas of your face that need extra care and attention and sealing it all in with a sheet mask for all-over hydration. The air seal fabric of the sheet mask allows for the mask and the patches to better adhere and absorb into the skin for even better results!”

4. Lineage Water Sleeping Mask–$21.90 (from Amazon)

laneige-water-sleeping-mask-review-e1507924243218

This sleeping mask is absolutely amazing, as well. I use this mask, especially in the winter, when my skin is dry and needs the extra hydration! The formula of this sleeping mask is so lightweight and thin but provides the most incredible hydration, at the same time! This sleeping mask provides so much hydration to the skin! The mask leaves the skin looking supple and almost bouncy looking while giving the most natural and “lit from within” glow to the skin!

According to Sephora, “Recharge your dehydrated skin while you sleep with this innovative mask. It’s formulated with highly concentrated Hydro Ionized Mineral Water to deliver high doses of moisture to stressed, parched skin. Calming Sleepscent™, infused with orange flower, rose, and sandalwood, and it relaxes and comforts while apricot and evening primrose extracts to brighten and purify fatigued skin. The result: skin looks and feels radiant, refreshed, and soft so you wake up with soft, glowing skin.”

Fragrance:

1. Chloé Perfume (2.5 ounces)–$56.94 (from Amazon)

51DEdOENFtL._SL1000_

This is my absolute favorite fragrance. I am terrible at describing fragrances so I will leave the notes down below. This scent is just so elegant and classic and makes you feel sexy while also classy, at the same time.

According to Sephora: “Chloé Eau de Parfum captures the creative, confident individuality of the Chloé woman. It is a fresh and feminine fragrance suited to a free spirit with an utterly innate sense of chic. The scent takes the classic rose and ingeniously translates it into a vibrant perfume, intimate and sensual. Chloé Eau de Parfum begins with a combination of floral powdery notes: hints of peony, lychee, and springtime freesia. The airy, flirtatious head notes drift away to reveal the richer and more sensual side of the rose. The distinctive character of this unique rose is accompanied by magnolia and lily of the valley, as well as subtle intimations of warm amber and elegant cedarwood. The fragrance is enclosed in a modern, delicately pleated bottle adorned with a hand-tied ribbon.”

Key Notes:

Peony, Rose, Honey, Cedarwood

  1. I heard the glow kits from ABH that are no longer available were good. I wish they would bring them back.. I’ve also been wanting to try out the Stilla liquid eyeshadow as I’ve heard they’re amazing. I also love the Morphe x Jaclyn Hill Palette. I love how pigmented they are and how nicely they blend out. I just recently bought her new collab with Morphe, the Vault, but I have yet to play with it yet, but I’m super excited to.

    1. I totally agree with everything you have said in this comment! Did you buy the entire Vault Collection?! What is your favorite palette out of the four?! I bought the Vault Collection too and have an in-depth review coming on Thursday so stay tuned for that! XO! 🙂

      1. Ooo I can’t wait for that! Yes I bought the entire vault collection. I love the bling boss palette and I’m thinking about doing a review of the entire vault collection as well

  2. I am fascinated that you used Morphe Jaclyn Hill so much that you had to repurchase! That’s serious devotion. I have that palette but I rarely touch it. My daughter uses it more. If I pull it out, it’s usually because I need a transition shade for something else. I guess I need to spend a week with it, when I did that with the Sweet Peach palette, it made me realize that I completely agreed with your opinion of Sweet Peach.

    1. I totally would spend a week with the palette and I promise that you will learn to love it as much as I do! Let me know if you do end up spending a week with it and let me know what you think of it after that! XO! 🙂

  3. I’ll have to try the KVD setting spray! I have my eye on the Stila shimmers as well, they just came out with a really pretty blue. I really want to get the Jacyln palette but I feel like I already have so many palettes, but repurchasing it twice seriously says how awesome it is! What are the shades you like best?
